History

The Genealogy Club of Newtown was inaugurated September 12, 2001. Genealogist Harlan Jessup envisioned a club where interested genealogists could share experiences and learn from one another. The club supports the efforts of the Cyrenius H. Booth Library in the area of genealogy and assists in the upkeep of the library's genealogy room collection.

Meetings

The Genealogy Club meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month except July & August. All meetings will be virtual via Zoom until further notice. All are welcome to attend. Please see '“Programs” for a schedule of up-coming meetings and programs.

Membership

We welcome anyone with an interest in genealogy research and learning more about their ancestors whether you are a novice or experienced to join! With a paid membership you will be helping support the club to continue to present programs that will help both new and experienced students to research their own family genealogies and to learn new techniques for improving their knowledge of their ancestors and their family histories. With a paid membership you will receive the emailed monthly newsletter with the link to the next Zoom meeting

Annual dues are $25.00 for individuals and $35.00 for families. If you are interested in joining the club please fill out the membership form and mail it with a check to:

All are welcome to attend meetings. If you are not a member and would like to receive an invitation to a meeting please go to the “Contact Us” page and provide us your first and last name, your mailing address and a current email address by the Monday prior to a meeting.  We will send you an email link for the meeting by the day of the meeting.
